Company knowledge, ready to work.

Helpful information often exists somewhere: in a handbook, a project document, or a process note. Finding the right version takes time, and an AI answer without a source only adds another thing to verify. The product challenge is to make retrieval useful, inspectable, and appropriate to a person's access.

  • The same questions interrupt subject-matter experts repeatedly.
  • Search results do not make it clear which document is current.
  • Generated answers need supporting evidence and a way to flag uncertainty.

Make the next action clear.

Treat the assistant as a retrieval and decision-support tool. Keep sources visible, enforce permissions before retrieval, and make an honest 'I couldn't find that' a normal outcome. Start with a bounded knowledge collection and evaluate it against real questions.

01

Knowledge with a paper trail

Source documents are indexed with their owner, version, and access rules. Answers link back to the passages that support them.

02

Controlled automation

An assistant can draft a follow-up or suggest the next step. Actions that change another system pass through a review step before execution.

03

A measurable quality loop

A representative question set, answer feedback, and retrieval traces help the team see where the system is useful and where it needs improvement.

A connected system.
A considered architecture.

A document worker parses approved sources, creates searchable chunks, and stores access metadata alongside each record. The application filters retrieval by the signed-in user's permissions before supplying evidence to the model. Evaluation and audit events are recorded separately.

Designed around traceable steps and clear ownership.

Proposed technology stack

The final stack would follow discovery, integration constraints, and the needs of the team maintaining it.

What success would look like.

These are design objectives for the concept. No production outcomes have been measured.

  • Fewer repeat searches for common operational questions.
  • Answers that can be checked against original documents.
  • A visible process for improving knowledge quality.

A plan to validate it

For a production pilot, we would benchmark a representative set of questions, test unauthorized retrieval attempts, and measure answer usefulness, citation accuracy, response time, and the cost of each successful query.

THE FIRST PRACTICAL STEP

Choose one knowledge collection and one team, define access rules, and create an evaluation set before selecting a model or adding autonomous actions.

Let's work through it.

Tell us where the friction is. We can help shape the product, the architecture, and a sensible first release.
